Use Ponte Portugal for practical relocation orientation

Ponte Portugal helps expats moving to or settling in Portugal understand common administrative steps, their likely order, and when personal help may be useful.

When to use it

Use the public guides and articles to orient a relocation question, compare the next likely steps, or direct someone to a relevant service. Use the contact route when an address, timing, document, appointment, or dependency makes the next step unclear.

Important limits

This material is not legal, tax, immigration, financial, medical, or emergency advice. Requirements change and can vary by municipality and individual circumstances. Verify current requirements with the competent Portuguese authority or a qualified professional. Never submit sensitive documents, identity numbers, banking information, or credentials through the public contact form.

Markdown content negotiation

Public pages have a Markdown representation. Request the normal page URL with Accept: text/markdown. The response uses Content-Type: text/markdown and Vary: Accept, Accept-Encoding. Requests that accept neither HTML nor Markdown receive 406 Not Acceptable.

• /api describes the public contact endpoint; its truthful machine-readable contract is at /openapi.json.
• /contact is the human-facing support route.

API compatibility and deprecation

The public contact endpoint is API version 1 and returns API-Version: 1. Compatible additions may be made within version 1. If a breaking replacement is needed, Ponte Portugal will publish a new documented version before retiring the current contract. A scheduled retirement will be signalled with standard Deprecation and Sunset response headers and announced on this page. This policy applies only to the public contact endpoint; there are no other public product APIs.
